Katie Mullis, MA
Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern
Katie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Social Work from Simpson College and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University. As a military spouse, Katie has a deep, personal understanding of the unique stressors that military families face. She is passionate about supporting service members, spouses, and children as they navigate deployments, relocations, and the many transitions that come with military life.

In addition to her work with military families, Katie specializes in supporting postpartum mothers. She provides a compassionate, nonjudgmental space for women to explore the emotional challenges of new motherhood, including identity shifts, anxiety, and postpartum depression. Katie walks alongside her clients as they adjust, heal, and find strength in their new roles.

Katie is trained in Mental Health First Aid, crisis intervention, and advanced parenting strategies. She draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Family Systems, and Solution-Focused Therapy to tailor her approach to each client’s needs.

Above all, Katie believes in the power of connection. Guided by the words of Maya Angelou — “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel” — she works to ensure every client feels supported, understood, and empowered.
